The 2015 Caritas Asia Regional Conference has started this morning, March 11. We have just learned the following decisions:
- H.E. Bishop Isao Yama Kikuchi has been re-elected for a second term as the President of Caritas Asia. Congratulations Bishop and all our prayers for this 4-years ministry.
- The Regional Conference has officially decided to formally establish the Central Asia Sub Region, which comprises of Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
- Following the recommendations from the 4 Sub Regions, the Regional Conference decided on the new Regional Commission’s members:
The new Regional Conference will be in action after the upcoming CI General Assembly, May 2015.
- South Asia: Pakistan
- South East Asia: Myanmar
- East Asia: Macau
- Central Asia: Mongolia
- The Regional Assembly has selected Pakistan and Myanmar as new Asian Representatives to the CI Representative Council, starting from May 2015
